World Cup Final Prediction: Forza Azzurri!

USA 94' was the first time I watched football, since then, I'm totally in love with the beautiful game.

Italy was the team i chose to support and still is. Attracted by the heroics of Roberto Baggio at first, his tragedic penalty miss only deepens my affection to the Azzurri.

My other favourite Italian players included Paolo Maldini, one of the greatest defender ever, regardless of playing on the left or centre, Gianfranco Zola, the little wizard with mesmerizing skills and a legend for the club I supported, Gianluigi Buffon, who in my opinion is the best keeper ever, current captain and another great defender who once voted the sexiest man in Italy, Fabio Cannavaro, and Alessandro Nesta, whose name is my nickname on the football field when I'm playing regularly with my budides few years ago (We have Beckham and Gerrard as well, that's why).

The world cup 2006 final will kick off in 30 hours time. The ability to achieve greatness under the worst circumstances is one of the reason I think the Italian be the new world champion, as they proved in 1982, Seria A scandal is actually a blessing in disguise for them. I can see the typical Italian grit in this Italian team, mixed with a group of experienced players who are at their peak, guided by a master tactician, Marcello Lippi.

However, fans are always bias don't they. :)

National Service Anyone? You'll Lose Loads Of Money!

It has been rumoured for a long long time, but apparently our government do hide things from us, especially when it comes to the matter of money.

The once poster boy of corporate Malaysia, Tan Sri Tajuddin Ramli alleged in his court document at last month that his purchase of MAS at year 1994 was indeed an idea of the government purposely to cover the loss made by Bank Negara in its investment activities.

"The transaction (worth RM1.8million) was a national service but disguised as an arm's-length commercial deal because the government wanted it that way to appease the investment community and the public," said Tajuddin.

The supposedly beneficiary of this 'secret project' reveal everything to the public recently because he discovers that the money-back-guarantee, made by Tun Dr Mahathir (who said "my word is my bond") is not too much of a guarantee actually. As a result he lost his shares in TRI (who owns Celcom) to Danaharta.

Sounds boring and looks complicated? As long as you pay income tax, own shares of MAS or lives in Malaysia. The implications of this incident is so wide that it includes the transparency of government policies to the independence of our legal and public assurance system.

Moral of the story?

Don't trust the businessman!
They lie...

Don't trust the politician!
They cheat...

Don't trust what the media says!
Most of them are tools of businessman and politician...

Don't trust your sense!
They deceive from time to time...said a favourite philosopher of mine

But, "If there was nothing wrong in the world there wouldn't be anything for us to do." quoted George Bernard Shaw.

It all begins with...

A warm thanks to a very good friend of mine, Mr. Fax Ko for inspiring me to become a blogger.

My prejudice was blog is just a form of diary made public to satisfy the pathetic eccentricity of peeping at or peeped by others. While feeling humiliated for my naivety and limitation of knowledge, thanks to my friend, I learned that blog could indeed be a useful tool for improving the freedom of speech in any part of the world. Or at least it allows you to express yourself.

"I doubt, therefore I think; I think, therefore I am", how could I forgot the teaching of the great French philosopher, René Descartes. Our own perception, and sometimes estasblished belief are not necessarily true all the time. I believe this teaching will be useful in all aspects of our life.
